3. T'en
T'en, 1000 years after the Rabbit's death. Chimeras of every species imaginable live under the benevolent protection of the Rat, a deity now known as Xi, or the Rat Totem.
Bovina, Tigris, Loong, Serpen, Equida, Caprico, Primata, Gallus, Canis, and the capital, the Holy City Vivaria. T'en is made up of these 10 landmasses, each blessed by a Totem. It is the only region of Earth inhabited by the chimera.
Bovina: the pastures of the Ox Totem. An emerald landscape of endless, rolling hills and rocky mountains, the gentle chimera of Bovina live quietly in huts littered across cliffs. Rumour has it that those who do not worship the Ox totem will enter a deep slumber upon entering this region.
Tigris: A dark rainforest that neighbours the jungle of Primata. Known to be a dangerous and unforgiving land, the chimera of Tigris inhabit only the fringes of the rainforest, in wooden huts. The Den of the Tiger Totem is deep within the Tigris, visited only by soldiers of Vivaria.
Ryukyu: A spiral column of water, stretching from the depth of the ocean to the clouds. Defying gravity through the blessing of the Dragon Totem, Loong is home to various chimeras of both marine and avian origin, a varied region with multiple cultures, separated by atmospheric pressure.
Serpen: A barren region, with civilisations separated by mountainous dunes. The people of Serpen live in coiling, interconnected caves that run deep below the sand.
Equida: A grassland neighbouring Bovina, home to proud warriors and farmers, often used as a training ground by soldiers. The people of Equida live in harmony with Beasts, taming even the most ferocious.
Caprico: A gentle region of varied fauna and ample resources, home to multiple small cities. Caprico is known for its scholars and its fascinating ecology and landforms; the spines of Caprico, towering rocks that run along the region, lead to the Den of the Goat Totem.
Primata: A jungle, more sparse and forgiving than Tigris. The chimeras of Primata live in the treetops, in a complex net of houses connected by slack, wooden bridges. Visted often by merchants, the jungle of Primata boasts exotic and delicious fruit, produced thanks to sacrifices made to the Monkey Totem.
Gallus: The region nearest to Vivaria, Gallus is a frosty, circular landmass. Alps along its circumference, the middle of Gallus is a warm and wealthy city, a hub of industry. Villages hidden within the icy mountains of Gallus trade with the centre for their livelihoods.
Canis: A bustling island of merchants, with various markets selling trinkets, clothing, and food. A popular destination for tourism with its warm, glimmering beaches, Canis is known as the homeland of the Golden Hero of T'en, Maria.
Vivaria, the Holy City: The centre of T'en, a towering, golden island high in the clouds. A spectacle of engineering, Vivaria connects each region with golden train tracks that traverse sea and sky. It is the home of Xi, the Rat Totem.
